Kandertal
In the Kander Valley, you can almost touch the high Alps of Berne. Snow-capped peaks surround the valley below and the area is simply full of exciting activities to help you relax or maybe raise your adrenaline levels. In summer, there is a choice between Alpine walking trails of varying difficulty, fixed rope climbing adventures or the chance to learn real mountaineering. Relaxation and plenty of fresh air can be found at the Blue Lake (Blausee), in Reichenbach and the idyllic Kiental. Winter offers unique opportunities for fun in the snow: the Kander Valley has a comprehensive network of winter walking trails and belongs to one of the largest cross-country ski areas in Switzerland. There are also show-shoe trails, sledge runs and family-friendly places to ski. The village is easily reached by public or private transport and once here you will discover it fully embodies the character of the Bernese Oberland.
